Why do some have bolt down packs while others don't?

 

My conclusion is that the "crimped" part that actually "clamps" down on the spark plug opened up (read bent) and after cruising a bit and hitting bumps it jumped up...

Plus, the rubber boot that helps hold the pack in the hole is a little old, soooooo, it's not helping much either. Wish I had the bolt down ones...

Going to later today...Doing a 4 wheel brake job today and painting the calipers (and a fuel filter when the rear wheels are off). Gona pick up the goods and bolt those puppies down later...I'll take pics if I do anything fancy

 

I bought the brackets, and they were off by just a hair...rather than drill them I came up with a new idea...I took two old, large, line clamps (flexible metal wrapped in rubber generally used to hold a hose or wire down). I bent them into a "U" shape and bolted them down, worked perfect. Only one of mine was popping up, so I only clamped two of them for now...I'll revisit it soon. thanks again!!
