Default coilovers vs. springs/shocks

are there any advantages to running coilovers as opposed to just springs and shocks other than adjustability? i've been looking into a set of h&r springs with bilstein shocks on ecs as well as the the bilstein pss coilover kit. there is only a $150 difference between the two kitsbut i don't know if i would ever adjust the coilovers once they were dialed in. would the tt sit nicely on 18s with just thespring/shock (it says about a 1.5to 2 inch drop)combo or would i need the adjustablity of the coilovers for it to sit just right? pics would be great if anybody has either of these setups. thanks.

another thing, how hard is it to adjust the ride height once the coilovers are installed?

I did the Hotchkis springs and Bilstien heavy duty shocks. I need to update my sig pic. I'm 4-wheelin in that pic. Car is about an inch lower now. I did my setup for about $750.

The only difference between coilovers and springs is that you can adjust the ride height with the coilovers.
It depends on how low you want your car to be. If you want to go lower than the springs, get the coilovers.
I'm about 80% sure you need to take the wheels off to adjust the ride height.
I have the hotchkis springs with koni dampening shocks (means you can adjust the firmness of the ride).
Sits perfectly, rides lovely, and looks great! I didn't want to go too low, because I do want to get some 18's soon.
Just make sure you get a camber kit (KMAC) when installing your new suspension.

Some crappy cell phone quality pics:

Actually the best thing about coilovers is that you can lower the car and the shock/strut travel remainsthe same where as lowering springs reduce the travel and makes a rougher ride. Just something to think about

That's why you get dampening struts and shocks.

Adjustable coilovers will allows you to easily corner balance the car too, if you are into track use.
