Default cold

2001 audi tt, 180hp 77k miles AWP motor
the thermostat reads a little under the first line abve Cold, and the heater blows out warmish cold air. The colant is a little brown i think due to the water wetter i added from red line to my regular g12, which i think is what is causing it. I changed the coolant temp switch which gave me cel's. to still have the cool engine prolbem. Im thinking to do a flush, and refil, i just want to know if a cold running, cold air motor could be a head gasket. and if not where is the thermostat, and quick directions on a coolant flush and tools i may need.

You NEVER add things to the g12. If its brown, its bad. To flush:

uncap the coolent ball, pull the drain **** (bottom of radiator on drivers side), let the coolent drain all out and poor in another gallon or so or distilled water and let it drain out also. Refill with g12 and distilled water....NOTHING ELSE

ya the jack *** at the part store said it be good, that was months ago. so i guess its been bad for a while. i guess i should drain it all out while pouring in distilled water. ill poor in 2 gallons till its done, then ill do the 50 50 mix. should the car remain off and pour though.

the only thing you need to worry about is if the water wetter gelled the coolent. That is why you nevermix anything in with it but distilled water

He added red Redline wetter in it. Think the chemical reaction turned it brown
