Placing ordinary tap water into the system could leadto mineral deposit build up. [&:]

Marketing plans suck. You'll be proud of what you've accomplished when you're done though (assuming you put in the appropriate time/ effort).

I did one for my employer for my class last spring. If you're doing it for your employer, they may actually send you a small kickback for your trouble.

Heres what I did last time I flushed my coolant system.

Opened the radiator drain, and stuck a hose in the cooant tank, let run until water out of drain is clear, make sure your heat is on high, and the car is warm, you want both the thermostat open, and coolant flowing thru your heater core.

Once everything is clear, I removed the hose, and let the level drop until the tank was near empty, and then refilled with distilled water, repeating until I'd poured 4-5 gallons of distilled water thru the system.

Let the car cool, then drain everything. Go mix up your nearly 50/50 of G12 and water. I go a little heavy on the G12 because you already have a bunch of water in the system since you only drained your coolant tank and radiator, and still have water in your block and heater core.

If you can, it also doesn't hurt to get potential air bubbles vacuumed out. The shop I had do this didn't charge me for the service, but billed me for a full bottle of G12 after they topped off the tank again (took about 14oz). : /

yes im sure the coolant gelled up t looks like vodka and coke, if you lok at it. i dont have a hse ant is 15 degrees out. i might just buy 10 gallons of distilled at walmart tommorow. open the drain after it warms u and run it through. im thinking 7 gallons just to flush. the question is how much distilled will i need, and is one bottle of coolant good? im thinking one gallon of coolant will need2 gallons of distlled to do a 50/5-0. also if the coolant is gelled, what could that mean? and where exactly is the thermostat.

10gallons is more than enough. 5 gallons should be plenty. Think 1 gallon of g12 and water is enough. If its gelled, it just doesnt circulate as well. It should break down when warm.

The thermostat is underneith the intake manifold.

actually in the coolant expansion tank whee the cap screws in thee was a white powder, but the coolant is watery pink, im stating to think its the thermostat, it takes a while for the car to begin blowing hot air, but the temp gauge only move above the first line when heas switched on. If the water wetter by red line contaminated my colant. could that result in failure, or deterioration of the hoses etc.

I bought a whole gallon of G12 today from the dealer for $22.50 How much of the G12 will I use (1 L, 2 L, 3L, or 4 L) mixed with water... i.e. 2 L G12 w/2 L H20, 1 L G12/1 L H20, etc... or do I pretty much use the whole gallon (4L)??

Anyone know exactly how much total liquid (G12 + H20) goes into our system. Cincy said about 1 gallon. Anyone else agree or have different numbers?
