Default cold weather electrical problems?

the first cold morning after i bought my car the airbag light came on for no apparent reason. dealer scanned ($128) and said the airbag control module ($600part) needed to be replaced in order to find out what else was wrong. i declined because i don't believe in the buy new parts and see if it works method of diagnosis.
once in a while the esp or epc light would come on and i would have to turn the car off to reset now for the past three mornings the coolant temp and level light comes on and i have to restart my car twice to reset. the level is right at the min mark. can i add that much distilled water to top it off? is it normal to add coolant without having a leek?
also my trip odometer and time keeps resetting when i start on cold mornings. is it time for a new battery?

My airbag light did only come on during cold weather, then blink/flash and slowly go off as the car became warm. It did this for two years. Now (as of 2 weeks ago) it doesen't go off when the car is warm. I'll bring mine into the dealer within the next month or so (I have a warranty).

It sounds like you have a different (and maybe several) issue. First replace the battery (cheep and easy). Battery should fix the odo and time issues forsure and maybe more.
An old timer trick is when the car is completly cold, turn on the headlights for a minute (with the car not running). This warms up the battery and sometime well give you more cranking amps.

It's not normal to add coolat. You shouldn't just add distilled water either (unless it's a tiny bit ~1/3 gal aditional or less total added). The coolant issue could be serious, if you are sure the coolant is missing or truely low.
