Your MAS screws inside your air box, all you need to do is take hte airbox off and unscrew the Mas from the box. I literally just bought the filter and put it on in the parkin lot. It was well worth the purchase.

Ok, so I had some free time today and an extra $20 bucks...

Here are my initial thoughts shortly after the install...
It's definitely LOUDER. Which is ok, 'cause I really don't mind it (yet). It does remind me of when I had my Greddy Type S BOV on my Mazda. But thats mostly b/c I have a Forge DV as well.

As far as performance... I'm really not convinced. In fact, I really think it made the car slower! I honestly had to lean on the pedal more to feel the pull that I'm use to feeling. I dunno, I'll leave it on there for a day or so, but then I think I'm reverting back to the stock air box.

P.S. Yes, I know.. my engine is filthy! Wanna clean it up for me?

The stock airbox is soo restrictive, not sure how you wouls lose power by goin to a more free flowing intake.

I'm not too sure either, it seems that my low end is slower, but once it gets up in the RPM's it seems fine.

part of the reason might be cuz it is pulling in more hot air now. The stock box kinda helped in that area. See if you can get an adapter to try and move it closer to the fender and further away from the hot air. Also check to make sure you have the MAF facing the right way just to be sure. The TTDA seems to be a good buy and it helps keep the hot air out ad it uses hoses that an be placed in cooler locations.

Seems like hooking up to the MAF would be a bad place for getting cold air into the engine though.

Dang it that is so what I said in the beggining. Ha ha Yeah I think if you got the filter closer to the air inlet or piped some air up to it you would get better performance.

When I did this to my a4 I actually made a heat shield out of sheet metal or something. Who knows if it helped, but it appeared to block the heat from my filter

You know, I should probably check that... It just seems really rough in the acceleration now. My wife even commented on the fact that it doesn't pull as hard anymore.

The way the car is driving right now seems more like there's an actual problem with the intake system, rather than it's just not getting as cold of air as before. The initial acceleration is boggy, rough, and I physically have to press the gas pedal in more to go anywhere. So, I'll check the MAF direction, but after that.. it's goin' in the garbage. [:'(]
