coolant leak
I was advised by the mechanic (Champion Motors Porsche/Audi Dealer) that they have seen several of the plastic connectors warp. And of course they do not make money on just selling the 0 ring hence they wanted me to buy the entire part. I have it off the car at this time and ordered as I advised for 8.92. I saw your site with useful info for the future. I have changed the timing belt, timing belt tensior, serpentine belt and tensior. Although not difficult you need to lift the motor on the right side (passenger) about one inch -enough to pull the belt through (between motor mount/block). I did it with a motorcycle jack. It took me about 4 hours -most of it taking off parts. Mark the cam shaft pulley on the top with the serrated timing mark on the block. Mark the bottom Crankshaft pulley. As long as you do not move those the timing will be correct.
i have an engine hoist if that helps? Also in your guys opinion which is the best diy for timing belt i have seen a few but i don't know enough about the job to see the best and most detailed.
You then have to remove the hood: the repair manual calls for a lifter tool which mounts on each side of the engine bay with a cross bar. If you remove the hood then no issues. The belt made by continental (German auto parts manufacture) is recommended and they make them for a range of German cars. I bought mine at RockAuto; they have two other types for sale.
