Coolant temp sensor is loose
I'm sorry for all the somewhat lame posts...I do search, but I can't find what I need...
I just replaced the coolant temp sensor (code P1296 told me to
) and when I reinstalled it I noticed it was "loose" I could wiggle it a bit...I installed it about 3 times to make sure the o ring seated properly and the clip was all the way in...With the engine running I wiggled it a lot, no leaks or problems...
So the question is... Is it supposed to feel this way? Will it get "tighter" after pressure builds up from a hot engine?? Please help quick, I don't want to spill coolant all over the freeway tonight!!!
TIA!!

No.. Ithnkits supposed to be a fairly solid fit. Mine is not shaky at all. Did you make sure the old o-ring was removed too?The temp sensor sittingon 2 o-rings might be the problem.
just took it for a couple miles, got it to running temp. No leaks what-so-ever, and the sensor is rock solid now...I guess the back pressure finishes the seating of the o-ring.
Thanks for the help in the time of panic!
I think this may be the best forum i've belonged to yet...the search works, the folks are friendly, and every post isn't about neon pedals or dream catcher air freshners.
