Default Custom Clutch

So I called up my local tuner to get some prices on a clutch kit. He said they get there's built, I couldnt hear him all that well but he was sayin something about a lightenedbillet aluminum flywheel and some other things. But what questions should I ask him in order for me to know I'm not buying a POS?? And so that I'm ordering what I want.

FYI - lightened ALUMINUM flywheels are more prone to chatter than a lightened steel flywheel.

Ask for a reference and be specific about wanting to talk to another TT owner with the clutch.

chatter is normally heard while idiling and starting in 1st gear.. sounds like something is wrong/loose in the car.

why do you people go cheap with important items such as a clutch??? everyone should just go with SPEC or Southbend clutches.....they have tons and tons of R&D and years of experience behind them....i wont even touch ECS made stuff thats that important(after seeing what happens to there brake kits they make) both those companies know how to make a damn good clutch.

The chatter is only noticeable when your at idle, and you can really hear it if you just got done racing or pushing your car hard because of the heat. It can be annoying at times, but its just something you get used to. Guys that know cars will know what you have and guys that dont will talk s*** about how your car is broken. Oh and FYI you will still hear chatter with the steel one just not as much.

I'm not going the cheap route, I just called them up to see what kind of clutchs they offer and thats what he told me. He's about to call me back with some numbers and info, i'll compare them to the spec clutchs I was looking at. Its just good that If I get them to do it and anything messes up than I can bring it back to them as they won't warrant anything that I bring in. Plus I trust this guy, he has always helped me out when I had problems and they are a pretty decent shop. He has a 225TT that he did a bunch of custom stuff to, i'm gonna see if I can drive his(if he has the clutch he wants to put in mine) so I can tell if i'd like it or not. BUt once I talk to him, i'll post back with the infoso you guys/gals can advise me.
