Default Cut Out

So i got this idea today. what if i put in an exhaust system and a cut out so i can switch btwn the system and having no exhaust. i kno its gonna b a lot louder in no exhaust mode, but besides that and the air pollution lol...is there any other disadvantages? r there any performance advantages cuz i read somewhere that it gives u more hp or something.

it all depends on what your running. If you already have a cat back, there really isnt a point. Unless you run a 2.5" cat back and a larger turbo, i wouldnt worry to much about it.

Loud noise, potentially faster spool, and maaaybe spit some fire.

While I'm posting vids tonight, might as well throw up another...

2:35 mark if you want to skip to the cutout clip. Thats a little more than just a cutout though, he can make boost just revving like that, basically, a studder box. Makes your ears bleed.

I had acut-out on my celica. Wicked loud. Punks in their riced neons and hundyia's would pipe me with their fart cans. And I"d switch to the cut-out and scare the **** out of them. Then pull away in stock exhaust.

I have a cutout on my GTP, and at the track, I have seen zero difference in my times, launch is more difficult because I cannot hear tire noise, I cannot feel the loss of traction, and I cannot even hear the S/C whine, it is disgustingly loud. On the dyno, it did zero for me also. Ofcourse, I have a 3" mandrel exhuast, no cat, back to 2.5" Y into Raven mufflers, doesn't get more free flowing than that.

all you have to do is look out for it bottoming out... im pretty sure on a TT the cutout will hit the ground from time to time because of where it has to be placed... i feel like i have heard that before
