I want to upgrade the HIDs on the TT to a 6000 or 8000k. Are d2s the correct replacement? And can I just get the bulbs or do I need the conversion kit that includes the ballast?

You can just get bulbs. I did this not too long ago. It is just a great way to make the car look a little better. I also HIGHLY recommend the license plate LED bulbs for the rear, to match the new lights up front. go to http://42draftdesigns.com/categories.../leds_fuse.htm

and buy the ones at the bottom of the page. Youll love em.

 

where did you guys get the HID bulbs? or these d2 or whatever?

 

Ebay. D2s - I got 8600 k I beleive. or 10000k. Cant remember, but they are blue as *****.

 

any more specific?

 

all you need is to search ebay for d2s replacement HID bulbs and pick the color temp you would like. I went with 8000k
