definately, I hadn't even thought of putting it there. Double sided tape, or did you screw it down?

I cut the back panel of the controller box to let the wire go straight back and that combined with a small bead of super glue hold it quite well and I drilled through the soft rubber close enough to the light switch so the plastic backing didnt get hit my drill died or I was going to make 2 small holes and put screws through the dash into the holes in the controller box but when real tools go dead super glue works just as good and isnt visable

I was going to use the ashtray origanally but when I went out to start mounting it I got the feeling it was to tight and was going to be difficult for me so I chose this location because its easy to reach yet out of the way and the wiring was very easy to get through the firewall and the big grounding bolt is close pretty much my laziness got the best of me and I love the end result

Until I took my ashtray apart to start working on a gauge pod, I had my controller (the only thing installed at this point) double side taped there. You could make it work pretty well there, even to the point of being able to close the tray and hide it when you wanted.

Nice mount. I have mine in the little storage area under the ash tray, but your location makes it a little more accessible. I find that I am constantly playing with the adjustments.
