NICE ones can run $100+ but for regular garage use, you'll do fine with a cheaper one.
The one I use is a 3/8 drive, 10-100 ft/lbs or something 'clicker'. Covers most of what I need. Have a bigger one at work if I need it.
Read the instructions to make sure you're using it right, and take the tension off it when its not in use.
