Default Driver's-side Door Problems

I'm having problems with the drivers side door on my 01 180 Roadster. The window does not go down a half inch when opened and back up when closed. Also the interior light doesn't come on when opened either. This is only happenind on the drivers side. When the passengers side is opened everything works correctly (window down, light on.)

Can anyone tell me what is wrong?

Try resetting your window

press window switch down....
press window switch up and hold for a few seconds...
then, press window switch up again.

I just tried that on my car. Nothing happened? Is something supposed to happen to show you that it worked? The window still doesn't crack when the door is opened nor do the interior lights come on. Is there a door sensor that detects when the door is open? If so where is it?

Also I know its been asked before but not answered. I have a rattling (clicking) noise in my dash board underneath and in the center. If I pop open the "Ash tray, lighter" door and hold onto it the sound stops. Is there a fix for this sound?

I've also reset my windows by putting the key in the lock and holding it to lock until the window raises all the way. Had no problems since. I dunno if thats an official fix, but it worked for me.
