Have a 2005 TT 3.2 with DSG. Want to do maintenance on haldex, differential and dsg tranny. I have Bently manual. Do I really need a VAS OBD scanner to check temperatures if I am draining/changing (as opposed to just checking)?
If I need a scanner, what is a good one that will work with this car. I also have a 2008 A6 and hope it would work on both.

Seen internet sites that give good details on servicing, but want to know if this is in fact straight forward or if this is more a pain that it is worth. I am pretty good with maintenance and do have a lift. Any pointers?

This car is much more common in the uk. I love my 2005 3.2 DSG by the way!
