where is the engine temp sensor on my 2001 tt?

looking into the engine bay its to the right of the cylinder block

forgive my ignorance. what does the engine temp sensor look like? there is a lot of plumbing down there.

its screwed in with wires plugged in ( the green plug ) its electrical not plumbing
