the EPC light has to do with traction control it is using the brakes with out your conscent to slow down one or more wheels it beleives is loosing traction.
The EPC light is Engine Protection C... something...
It's right in your owner's manual Elecetronic Power Control. Cuts power if stuff goes wrong.
Mine went off once when I was in top gear at full boost and let off and it CLUNKED pretty loud. Must have misfired badly for some reason probably DV related. I pulled off the road shut off the car restarted it it was fine.

yea that happened to me the other day, before that i had a cel for maf due to the motha fooka ****, the darn thing was making it go crazy, as soon as i took it off, CEL = bye bye.
but the epc light came on once, it felt light the car just stalled out.
will have to run a vag scan soon. but was thinking about doing a ful cleanout of the motor, TB, Tranny, IC, Rad, brake lines, fuel lines etc.
but that damn epc light thing is quite pesky.
