OMG, I had it all wrong. I thought it was off by default and the light that comes on when you push the button was telling me it was on. oops, lol

 

Old post I just happened upon... Simply answered cars with ASR or ESP would have the ASR or ESP button. ASR = Anti Slip Regulation, ESP = Electronic Stability Program. I have a 00 FWD TT with ASR. A simple push of the button lets me smoke the tires lol Most other Audi cars like A4, A6, A8 etc... (and some Mercedes) if you hold the button for 10 seconds it completely disables the traction control system until you recycled the ignition key. Since this post is so old I'm sure most of you may know this by now.
