was Merging into 4 lanes on I-75 South out of Dayton @ about 70mph. I looked over my left shoulder and saw it was clear except for the slower car in front of me (who decided to speed up as I went around him)

I (with turn signal) went toward lane number 2 (left to right) he sped up and decided to go to lane 2 as well (without turn signal) but I got there first. No matter, he kept coming over and either didn't see me (had my lights on) or what ever and I pulled hard to the left to avoid collision and higher insurance rates and went into fish tail city.

Immediately I felt the tell-tale braking on the catercorner wheels alternating on each pivot and then relaxed on the steering.
It straightened me out enough to look around out the back window while I cussed vehemently at him,
which is better than cussing in twisted wreckage.

 

Oh what a story. German engineering is the best. Was it raining or was the road dry?

 

It was raining up this part of 75... glad you're ok! That's a scary feeling.

I don't generally do such daring merges in rainy weather, though its good to know the car handles rain like few others do.
I noticed a car farther back afterwards, I can just imagine the show they got watching me squirreling all over the place.

 

Some people just shouldn't drive. Good thing these cars are safe
