think I can work a 1 piece pipe through everything thats what I'm hoping to do but I might have to use 2 pieces on the cold side

Hot side will have to be 2-3 peices and the cold could be 1-2. The least amount of connections the better. Just make sure they add a lip by either welding or pressing for the couple to hold on to. Also bring them some hairspray and you will have even less worry about the connections coming loose

If he can press a small lip onto it I will be able to use some V-Bands to hold them together I was going to use some high tempRTV would hairspray be better?

Vbands need a special lip that has to be welded on and will get expensive fast (like $30/connection). Hairspray once it drys gets tacky and reduces the risk of the pipes slipping off greatly. Plus you just twist them to remove if you even need to. Dont think rtv would help much or be to perminate

how much is this going to run you? mandrel bent piping and all?

stupid 180TT throttle body/intake mani >_<


i got quoted $400 for custom fab'd piping + map sensor flange/IC weld + couplers/clamps.

Or you can just spend $200 or so on a greddy style piping from an ebay kit and then use a nice 350hp core like he has.

The shop charges by feet of pipe and # of bends I will have to post up a price tommorow after I get my car ready to go into his shop so he can see the bends he will have to do I might have forgotten about the MAp sensor flange when I talked to him

I was talking about the ebay gti ic kits. They use the gti/jetta greddy piping style and you can get that by themselves from some vendors and then get a good core. If you plan on using a top flow ic, you are going to have to fab up those pipes yourself

If you do go custom remember almost everything usefull is closed on weekends like all 3 of the shops I know of with a mandrel bender so now I'm driving around with a FMIC thats not hooked up
