Default Front Tire Jacking Point

I've read through a whole slew of posts and debates on jacking points for the TT and seen the general consensus that the pinch weld points used for the stock jack that comes with the TT are the best place to lift the car from with a floor jack.
If the point however is just to change a front tire where you only need to get the tire an inch of the ground, is there any way the jack under the lower front control arm? Obviously with proper precautions to not put all the load on one point on the arm because it is not level with the floor, but perhaps by spreading the load with a properly shaped block of wood as an example.
Anyone here ever jack up their TT in this way?
Or is the pinch weld jack point the only really safe way to avoid damage?

I avoid the widower maker (jack the car comes with) at all costs!
If you look you'll see a black round rubber pad under the car. There are four of these in total, one in each corner. These rubber pads are the mounting points, and are the safest place to lift your car from. If you use a floor jack on the ridges you could dent the bottom of the side skirt, and potentially injure yourself. Keep it safe!

yeah, I don't use the pinch welds, they get scratched up and dented with repeated use. They make pads for floor jacks that fit the stock lifting pads so it "lock" the jack to the car kind of. Super safe way to do it.

If in doubt, put a small 2X4 with a good floor jack (I also use 2X4 for timing belt engine lifts and drops). It spreads the pressure evenly and will not damage your belly and will not slip. Just a tip...
