Default Frustrated and Depressed Please help!!

I'm am currently the owner of a 2001 tt quattro. The car currently has 80,000 miles on it and but at around 70,000 the motor was replaced due to the infamous timing belt. Before this tragedy my car ran and drove respectively well no complaints. Now that the motor was replaced i have had continuous problems my car no longer produces 9-12 lbs. of boost as it did before now it's more like 5 maybe 6 my traction control and check engine light will not stay off (check engine is always on, traction control light will shut off but turn on immedietly at 3,000rpms) not only this but when attempting to go full throttle the car seems to either skip or produce no power what so ever. engine temp for some reason will not stay at normal the more i drive it after warming it up and driving around the thermostat will actually show the temp cooling down and this is when i loose all boost. not sure where to start with repairs and i'm starting to loose hope for my TT, i figured i'd post this as a plea for possible help before a seemingly inevitable trade in.


P.S. i love this car don't want to loose it

What engine did you have before 180 with ATC or AWP or do you have a 225 with a AMU?

What engine was used as a replacement and what ecu are you using?

Knowing who did the swap and what engine they used would be of great help.

5-6 PSI sounds like limp mode to me, why it's happening, I'm not sure. If your coolant sensor was bad (which is common on some models, however I think it's only 02+ ones...then again you have a diff engine) it would explain your erratic temp readings. Not sure if it can throw limp though...I guess it could if it thought it was overheating. That woudl be a simple solution.

Get yourself back to whoever did your engine swap, and have them fix the problems. The issues should be simple enough to diagnose.
Wait a minute: That was just my 200 post. Don't I get another star or something? When do I get to shift into another gear? I feel cheated.
