Default Fuel Filler flap release switch

2001 TT Quat Roadster- FFFRSwitch when pressed will not open the Fuel Filler Flap, must do so manually inside the trunk.
Any suggestions as to how to fix would be greatly appreciated.
Checked all the fuses, all ok. Next?

Hopefully someone else will know this. Mine won't work either but neither does the trunk release. I must do that with the key fob. The interior sensor switch still works though!

Help

Confused

This might sound weird but try locking/unlocking your car a few times.. I had the same problem and somehow unlocking it fixed it???

Wow!!! That was it!! I think I've got it figured out though now. It seems I was playing with the windows with the key when you lock and unlock the door. In the end of my playing I left things locked. After that I only used the fob remote to unlock the doors. It seems when you use the key it locks out the trunk and the fuel flap but the remote will not unlock them. You need the key to unlock them.

Mystery solved!!!

Thank you!

No longer confused......

My 98 A4's fuel door is stuck, as many others have written. Is there a way of unlocking it without manually pulling it out through the trunk? I lock and unlock the from the front drivers side door, and cannot unlock the back two doors as well as the fuel door! Any help?

thx

This happened to me as well last summer. I used the method above, unlocking/locking the car manually, and all went back to normal.

The emergency switch is right under the gas cap in the trunk through what looks to be a vent behind the taillight... it's in the owners manual that I came across yesterday.. so if it's not working.. u can manually do that.
