gas milage will be about the same for both. The only thing a chip does better is changes timing. Im pretty sure it would be to the drivers in a 1/4 race between a chip vs diode car. And if quattro411 has something to say, ill [sm=chairshot.gif]again until he[sm=boohoo.gif]
Yah pretty much I have nothing bad to say about the diode. My car pulls hard as hell and I havent had one problem. Im looking to fab up some guagepods this weekend so I dont have to pay 100.00 for a piller. I just have all my gauges below the ashtray heh kinda bad lookin down when you are driving.
So you really shoot a 100 wet shot with a stock engine and a diode? Do you atleast pull a couple degrees of timing when you do thise? Just trying to find out info for myself. Now you got me thinking of 150 direct port shot
Yah, thats why im looking for the fully programable ECU do you know any company's that offer this. Im sure direct port would be alot more money but would be safer you would only get a little more performace than im getting though.Havent had it dynoed but my mech is guessing that its adding close to 100-115hp when shooting. He told me to lay off of using that much maybe once or twice a month till I get the ECU so i dont risk anything.
The me.7 is a bitch and no one can really tune it by itself. All you really need to do is get a vagcom and lemmiwinks and retard timing 2-3* and run a 75shot and you would be much safer.

Awesome thanks for the input. I have been spraying at 3.7 to 4k+ RPMs. Would it be possible to do it earlier or would that create issues?
