Default gas guage q

Maybe Im just crazy...but my gas guage the last few fill-ups has shifted to the "F" about 1/4 tank...that is, when full the needle is way beyond the full mark and I get the low fuel warning (and low remaining miles display) while the guage itself reads about 1/4 tank...as if the whole thing shifted to the right LOL...is there a way to simply reset it (e.g. a fuse pull)
Thanks

Sounds like maybe the unit has shifted behind your gauge cluster. Maybe try to pull the cluster out and see if you can reset it by just turning the unit back to the correct position.

Careful screwing with the clusters, they are expensive, and theres really not much you can do with them.

Theres been problems in the past with clusters going bad, you may be seeing the first stages of that. When I had mine replaced, my fuel gauge was a bit off, maybe a 1/8th tank, and stopped, the speedo read -10. Also, temp gauge spiked to hot, as soon as the key was turned. I worked thru an independant garage, but ended up having to take it to audi for the new cluster to get the milage flashed in. If you have a VAG-COM cable, you can do that yourself, but its still tricky. Cost of a new cluster for my car was about $500, but if you have to buy it yourself, expect a few hundred more.

First I would try resetting you ECU to do this unhook your battery for about 10 minutes then reconnect it.

Make sure you have your radio security code before you do that though, assuming you have the stock unit. Disconnecting the battery will lock the radio, and its kinda expensive if Audi has to look it up.
