Since I have the Tiptronic transmission[:'(] I was wonder which would be faster if I was racing someone. To put it in Drive, Sport, or use the Tiptronic shifting(I usually shift about 5500-6000RPMS) What would give me the best performance?

 

I have seen on a couple sites that the regular drive mode is faster than trying to shift.

 

so sport would be faster, it will hold each gear a little longer.

 

Its wierd though because the acceleration in sport mode seems slower than drive. It seems like it takes longer for the turbo to spool up or something....I dont know what it is but it does seem slower[>:]

 

take it to thestrip and find out. thats the only true place to test it

 

My S4 is way faster in Sport mode, but that's a V8 with gobs of torque off the line. I don't think I could drive a 1.8Twith a Tip. That said, lots of folks have them and seem to enjoy. I've always liked manual trans with a 4 cyl.

 

3rd gear appears to be the fastest in mine.
