Default RE: GIAC Chips tied to one car?

so i talked to a Revo guy today ... man that dealer is really pushy, they basically told me this .. if flashed then NP they can reflash with their software.

if actually soddered chip then they remove chip and replace with oem. but unless they have oem lying around then i have to supply it.

if i dont want a flash they can revert it to stock for 100$ -150$ w/o chip repl. .... sounds like time for used ECU [&:]

Default GIAC'd ecu swap, problems and solutions

I tried the ecu swap, and my car was immobilized. I switched back to my native ecuand I was fine. My most local GIAC rep is tyrol motor sports in NY (i am in VT [:'(]). They said that if Isent both ecu's and the two chipsv (stock and x-chip) they would socket my new ecu and program the chips to work with the new ecu for 180 including shipping. I am still waiting to hear back from awe tuning, who did the original work on the socketed ecu. All together, this seems kind of round about, but is still saving me money over a new flash. I am debating spending the extra 70 dollars to be at 250 and buy a vag-com to make the socketed ecu work with my current car, but I have a feeling the stealership is going to be a huge PIA about it, they have a crazy monoply being the only dealer in the state.
