Good Deal?
Hello all,
I'm a newbie here. I'm looking for some advice. I placed a down payment on a 2001 nimbus grey 225hp quatro roadster today. The car has around 40,000 miles on it, couple of very minor scratches, interior is flawless. I'll be paying $19,000 for it. from what I've seen on ebay I'm getting a good deal but it's kind of hard to judge off auctions so thats why I'm posting here. I figured the people visiting these forums would be on top of the current value of these cars. Any other infomation as far as what to look for about these cars would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

I always check the pricing of cars with this if Im talking with a dealer. Test drove a Jeep a year ago, and the dealer was asking 18,000 for it, checked the nada on it, and it booked for 16,500. Didn't buy that jeep....

I am a dealer in the Southeast. Assuming it is equipped as standard, current N.A.D.A. retail value is $22,500 (w/ 40-45,000 miles). As long as the car has a clean history (it is WELL worth it to pay for a CarFax report to assure no damage or flood history), $19k is not a bad deal. I would ask the dealer where they purchased the car (trade-in vs. bought at auction) also ask them if they have a CarFax. I provide a CarFax report on every vehicle I sell free of charge to the buyer. If you have a mechanic you know & trust, ask if the car can be inspected. An honest dealer w/ nothing to hide should not only provide a history report, but should be more than happy to allow a mechanics inspection.
