Default Good News.

Well as I mentioned in another post. On Saturday night as I was driving, my car suddenly lost all power. I turned off the engine and tried to re-start it but it wouldn't turn.We guessed it was a broken Timing Belt. Well we took the car apart to find out that the belt was not broken. But had stripped and lost 16 of the teeths. We did a TB job, removed the valve covers to look for more dmg. Oddly enough, nothing was wrong with the valves (whew, saved me an assload of money there). Right now putting the car back together should be finished in about 30 minutes.

If it failed while driving and then you cranked it again after that, chances are you did bust something.

This is just as bad as it breaking.

If all you pulled was the valve cover, there's no way you can tell what shape the valves are in. All you can see are the lifters/springs. The valves sit much lower. You'd have to pull the whole head to see if the valves/pistons are damaged. Also sure hope you replaced the water pump while you were at it, since that could have caused it.

don't go banging without protection, much like your pistons+valves just did.
