HELP ME!!!

Looks like I have the same problem... I spent a lot of money fixing my TT and the past week, I can't get past 3.5k rpms in 4th or 5th... my boost stutters when I gas it like something's slipping. how much does that whole repair cost and what how do i start checking? i can't really afford to take it back to the shop.

Do you have any check engine lights?

No, no check engine light. I drove tonight and 1st through 3rd seemed decent but not as powerful as I remember but I start to feel the stutter at around 4th gear, 4k RPM and forget about getting past 3.5k RPM on 5th gear. The car starts to stutter and feels like trying to run up a slippery hill... your legs move, you get traction once in a while but you slip a lot and pretty much not get anywhere.

I'm a total noob with the TT and terminology used here in the forums but i hear "coil pack" a lot... is that the -park plug - ignition coil - plug cable- combo or is that something else? I really don't want to pay $115 for a diagnosis at the shop - but I guess I might have to.

Any help would be awesome because i just downed $5k just to get the car in decent running condition.

See they are not going to be able to tell you what is exactly wrong with it, if they just run for codes nothing shows up, your best bet if you want but its going to cost about 300 for everything, is your own Vag-Com (K-series usb probably) and then when you run for codes and find out what coil pack is bad its about 50 for that. But that may not fix it. Your DV could be bad....? Its so hard, but the Vag-Com pays for itself many times, and you can also help out fellow VW and Audi owners, that I know for a fact have paid me to help fix their cars, so it pays for itself in the long run. If you want to try a stab in the dark, then go get for new plugs, Autolite 3923 gapped to 0.032 and a new coil pack, change all your plugs and then start off changing out cyl 1 with the new coil pack and then test drive, keep doing that till either you fix the problem or you get to the last cyl. If you get to the last one and nothing happened then its not a bad coil pack so....check your DV. I would change new plugs first, then test drive and if that dosent work then try the coil pack. Coil pack and 4 plugs are gona be about 60 bucks total....and you could find a OEM DV on here for pretty cheep im sure also...
