apparently in denmark or whereever that picture was taken its like 600% more a year in vehicle tax if registered as a truck. Its common for people to convert cars to usuable trucks.

And the TT is not nearly as expensive over seas as it is here.

[ul][*]here is the funny thing, i use my mk1 for a tuck more then people at work with a truck, and was thinking of doing something similar to use as i need. Plus all the weight savings. the hatch weighs alot, mabee ill do this for the hell of it just to do it. nothing is better then hauling a load of stuff from lowes with a tt watching some *** getting 10mpg in his truck never putting anything in his or her box giving you a dirtty look for carying something in your sports car getting 30mpg+.[/ul]

So far, my TT's truck has had in it:

HEAVY Duty Electric Concrete Chipping hammer (think jack hammer, big enough that it doesnt come in a case but its own dolly)

Concrete chipping hammer, one size smaller, enough that the case took up the with of the trunk.

Gas powered Concrete Saw

Traffic Cones

Carpentry set up tool belt

etc etc... ofcourse not all at the same time but the saw and jackhammer was in there together. I died a little inside that day.

Those images hurt my eyes.

I dont care what the tax is. - They distroy'd that car.

Why not just convert it back after you pay the taxes?

Uh. - My head hurts.

The point is that they need trucks, but it's cheaper to use a car as a truck instead. I'm sure it's not permanent, and the hatch can be re-installed.

Although, a pantera style hatch would be interesting to see.
Not good, but interesting.
