Mine was bad when I bought my 2003 TT 225HP Quattro, but the car was still under warranty and it was replaced for free. My warranty expires tomorrow and I have been agonizing over buying the extended warranty for $2,200. I've had the cluster, a window regulator, both door handles and the back package shelf replaced under warranty. Are these cars a continous nightmare? I love the car, but am terrified of the possible repair costs.

My cluster is missing the top left-hand corner and there is a line going through the center almost like the LCD leaked somehow. My gas gauge stays at full till I have 50 Miles DTE, at which time it goes to 3/4 of a tank. The temp gauge goes right to the top of the overheat mark, but no warning light to say I'm over heating and car still runs fine!

beffyosito if you plan to keep the car i would go for the extended warranty.... I will probably buy one too I checked yesterday and they want $3k for 2 years 25k miles. SInce the cluster is over a grand for the repair and the age of the vehicle I will probably get it.
I can't believe that with the amount of problem wit the instrument cluster that Audi is not doing anything....

3k for 24mos seems a bit high.

I also put close to 25k on my car in a year.

Mine started with the gas gauge not working and about a month after that when I was driving to my cousins house the battery light came on, the ac cut off, radio cut off, abs light (and others) started going on and off, then all the gauges cut off. Shortly after that the gas pedal quit working so I pulled over and sat there for a minute then I turned it off and it would not start again. So after I got towed to my cousins house I ordered the rebuild from BBA reman and my cars been sitting there ever since, but my clusters suppost to be here tomorrow so we'll see.
