Default head rebuild results.

so after this 3 month long apocalypse. I finally put the audi back together and gave her turn. well, she started.

however things didnt turn out ideal. I feel like the head i bought from the guy had some bent valves in at least one of the cylinders.

1.The car remains at idle at 1000.
2.No gas pedal, it doesnt do anything.
3.car idles aggresively, the engine shakes and is felt through out the whole
car.
4.lots of smoke comes out of my exhaust manifold, it may just be oil though, i spilt a little oil in the cylinders and around the head when i was getting my cams wet before i put the valve cover on.
5. the exhaust smells like gas, suspecting where a cylinder is no good. just passin A/F ratio right through it.

exhaust is bup bup bup.

I will be update with a video, compression test and leak test.

AMU head on AMU motor. AMU head i bought was in poor condition though.

ill do a compression test to see if all cylinders are firing.

if compressions good then ill re do my timing.

compressions bad im going to save up and buy a whole new amu engine. and drop it to my new tranny. *sigh*

I have a feeling i bent a valve on the install somewhere, whether installing the head or lining the time marks up.

i never even attempted rebuild stuff like this ever. i never even took apart or reassembled a gas rc car so the fact i took it apart and got it to run again at least doesnt make me feel this was a complete failure. rather happy knowing i dont suck in life.

I had the same thing in mine kinda. Did you have a machine shop look at it to make sure everything was good?

I had my ASE master technician school teacher look at it. we feeler guaged it, vacumn chambered it as well. one cylinder held only 5psi vacumn so that could be my bad cylinder. im at school right now borrowing the compressiontester and hopefully the scanner.

my ignition harness as well is full of cracks and doesnt look like its in good condition.

should i tape up each crack or replace the whole thing?

compression test results all holding around 150psi.
waiting for a partner to test my first stroke compression.

scanner results: cam and crank out of position.

your so smart cincy.

I got her to run beautifully, well beautifully when off a tooth.

going to re do timing, cylinder leak test, first stroke compression test then i will update.
