Default Headlight Out

Just as I thought everything was great with my newly painted headlights and smoked corners....BAMM, I turn on my headlights to go out last night and I get a beep and the display symbol for my headlights. I can only imaging after splitting them and seeing what the inside looks like that I need to split it again to change the bulb. Can anyone confirm how to change the main headlight bulb (not the high beam)?

They come out from the back, you won't need to take them apart. Its fairly easy to do, just not so easy to get to. Didn't you have to pull the wires from them to get the headlight out to start with? I'd check all your connections before I went out and bought a new bulb.

From what I remember the turn signals and parking lights are the same bulb. They're H6W's and you won't find those things anywhere other than a VW dealer...and also at this link that I conveniently have bookmarked:
http://www.ttstuff.com/Merchant2/mer...ode=OEM-H12V6W

$12 for a little ol' bulb[:@] I was mad when both my parking lights burnt out.
