Default Headlights?

I've done some reading on here about removing the headlights. From what I've read I understand the bumper needs to be removed to get to them. I was trying to just clean the inside of the headlight cover because water and some dust has gotten into them. So I guess my question is could I just take a heat gun to soften up the sealant to get the covers off?

Thanks.

The headlights are not sealed units. waterdamp will find its way in anyway.
As for dust, it most likely isn't dust.
I opened up mine last weekend and fixed my lowbeams, painted/cleaned the housings.
Same 'dustspots' afterwards. Turns out they're just little pits and nicks in the lens from little rocks.

All I'm saying, if cleaning them is the only reason you wanna open them up, i wouldn't because it is a lot of work IMO.
