Default Hello All New To AUDIS!!!

Well, i bought a 2000 Audi TT FWD Coupe 180 very recently and i must say this is a fun car to own, lucky for me they depreciate pretty horribly (i wont tell that to the girlies who think i have money LOL) and was able to pick up this beauty for $12,900 at the dealership i work at. This car is immaculate black on black with the 17in. wheels and 245/45 tires, sits nice. Im a musclecar man at heart (currently woring on a 1968 Galaxie with a 532 stroker big block) but this is a very capable car overall (not too much at the drag strip but u cant have everything right?). Anyways what RPM do these things like being should shifted at? according to this dyno chart it whould be way before its 6600RPM suggested redline,am i correct?

also my passenger side parking light bulb seems to be burnt out, where can i get a new bulb? i went to the local autoparts store and they dont have it i guess.THANKS ALL and nice to be here at this forum

Welcome to the forums, about the shifting point, yes they need to be shifted well before 6600 I shift mine at about 6000 inorder to keep the hp numbers up. As far as bulbs you can check out ecstuning.com they have just about anything you will need for the TT. Good Luck!

I've heard you can get the bulb at a Benz dealership. Enjoy the car!

usually 5500 is my choice, but it kinda depends on the gear.

get a vagcom cable www.ross-tech.com or a knockoff, and you can log a few blocks and work out an optimum shift point graph.

for me I just go on feel, I have seen some dynos with about the same mods that I have, but I have a 225, and they all seem to lose power after 6k so therefore that is where I shift at, any sooner and I think that I will be dropping into too low of gears, but the Vagcom is a great idea also. Just havent gotten around to it yet
