hello new to the forum, got a ?

my buddy has a TT that I'm thinkn bout buyin off him, the all wheel drive disengages sometimes, is this a problem I should be worried about? Can the problem be fixed cheaply or is this normal?

Its not a perminate awd system like other cars. But if its not working when you are accelerating, thats bad and i would pass
