Default HELP - audi tt - alarm keeps going off

The audi horn alarm goes off at odd intervals. Will go off over and over and then will not for several hours or even days. I took it to the dealer. He stated thatthe code itis showing is "01463 - Alarm by sensor for theft alarm system." I bought the car used. Previous owner put in an after market alarm. When I use my key to set the alarm all I hear is the car horn beep setting the stock alarm. However, if I hold down the lock button of the key it serves as a panic button setting off the siren of the after market alarm only. Dealer said the only thing they could suggest was to have the after market alarm removed by someone other than them because they only know the schimatics of the audi alarm. They said the after market alarm was tied into the audi alarm. I do not know what company put the after market alarm in and am afraid to have it removed by a company who knows nothing about it possibly creating bigger problems. Does anyone have any ideas? Please help. Thanks

I wonder what would happen if you disconnected the leads to the aftermarket alarm controler. I used VAG to reprogram my lock to put my windows up and unlock to put them down so you might be able to alter that. Other than that, find a place that knows a lot about alarms and have them look it over.

see if you can come in contact with the previous owner and see what and where he had it done... if not just take it to a place that specializes in car alarms and see what they have to say. good luck
