Default HELP !! High Pitch Noise From engine Area!!

I have a 57 plate 2.0 tfsi TT and a loud high pitch noise has started coming from the engine area!!

it doesnt happen untill the car has been drove for around 20 mins but then randomly makes the nosie when driving, then when turning the ignition of the noise happens for a few seconds. Then the noise starts everytime the ignition is turned on and off!!

the noise stops if the car isnt used for a few hours but then after 20 mins of driving the routine starts again!!!

There has been no affect on performance just a rather annoying unhealthy noise that doesnt sound right!!!

Can anyone help please??

realised last night when i have my a/c on full the high pitch noise becomes permanent but at a lower pitch!

and still makes the noise for 2-3 seconds after turning the ignition off?

really need some help or advice on what it could be?

read a a few things saying it could be the secondary water pump or the timing belt? or maybe that the a/c needs recharging?

help would be appreciated,
cheers

See if the oil filler cap is difficult to remove when the engine is running. If it is then more than likely you have a bad crankcase vent valve.

i checked the oil cap today and its near impossible to pull it off when the engine is running but comes off very easily when the ignition is off!!

where is the valve located? is it expensive?

cheers, matty
