Default Hi from the new guy

Hi guys,

I just wanted to say hi to everyone since I just joined the forum.

I have been reading the forum for the past few days as I am looking to put an induction kit to my TT 225.

I think I will probably go for the K&N 57i Gen 2 kit (one of my best friends who is into the mods advised me to go for a K&N)

Anyone used it so far? Any other suggestions are more than welcomed.

Will post pics in the coming days.

PS. It is amazing the way you help the new guys and thats one of the reasons I joined!!!

i dont really know much about the K&N filter...

however, you may want to read through this... click!... its been a hot little item for an intake for the TTs and is better known as a "shroom" filter.

Just a thought

Thanks for your reply theTTkid!
I will take a look at it now.

To be honest I wanted something so I can hear a bit the turbo when accelerating plus the 'fsss' sound when changing gears. But I don't want something very loud. Any suggestions having that in mind?

Thanks again

well supposedly with the shroom filter you can hear quite a bit, and im pretty sure everyone likes the sound... it wont sound like a blow off valve or anything but youll definitely be able to hear your turbo spool up and a "fsss" sound when you shift (and if you have an after market diverter valve youll hear a louder "fsss")...

right now i have the Modshack VTDA which is pretty much a paint can around a cone filter.. I like it, it goes from a rumble at low rpms to a great sound and then because i have a diverter valve i get a little extra "Fsss" sound...

My suggestion would be to check out a shroom filter or maybe even a cone filter...

Im replace my intake soon with .clipses shroom. THANKS CLIPSE!

Thanks again mate.

I was just wondering if getting a kit with a cold air feed would be better than a shroom filter?

I am new to this mods think and I don't know that many things on engines...(i guess you can tell... hehehe)

and intake / a cold air isnt going to do really anything for you performance wise... honestly the only real noticeable gain youll get out of it will be sound.

Cold air isnt worth it, youll be satisfied with a cone or shroom (maybe even the K&N but idk much about it)

as far as performance goes, youll see like 1-2hp probably haha.. its really not a big gain.

If your looking for a good increase in power looking into chips (APR, REVO, GIAC, O.CT) are the manufacturers of reliable ones...

Check out the FAQ in the stickies and it will answer more of your questions
