Hi. Replaced battery. Now electronics are mess.
Hello everyone,
I hope someone could help me with this. I would deeply appreciate it.
Well, after I replaced the broken battery (dripping acid) with a new one, the ac/heat doesnt work along with the seat warmers. Also, the radio doesnt turn off when i shut off the car. Doesn't the car reset automatically after battery replacement or do I need a tech to do it???
Any help would be lovely.
Thanks

I've killed my battery twice in the 2 months i've owned this car. (I'm not completely retarded, however my 7 series had auto lights, and my C Class also has auto lights.) For some reason this TT doesn't
Seriously the only 2 things this car really needs :
Auto Lights.
Electric moving seats (With 3 settings at the push of a button) - If I had this I would love this car 100% instead of the 95%.
Anways to get on topic. I have had the same problem. I highly suggest you just take it to the dealer and have them reset your car. (Its not expensive) My dealer costs $48.50 to do it.
Or you can buy a Vagcom. Which I'm hopefully getting for Christmas!
Good Luck!

I don't think that a VAG can get the radio code...
I could be mistaken though...

Only a dealer can unlock the radio without it. They have to get the serial number from the radio and your VIN number to look up the code for the radio.
The other problems you've mentioned sound like blown fuses or loose connections under the seats.
Hey I just had a follow-up on the subject. I need to switch my battery, and not to mention how great it is that the torx and socket screws all need an extension just to be able to reach (because *every* normal person has these types of tools.....), I was wondering if I need to remove anything more than the 2 torx screws at the base of the battery on each side, and the 2 socket screws towards the middle back that hold all the wires to the top of the battery to be able to get it out? Do I need to unmount the air filter components to be able to move them out the way just enough to be able to get down in there? Or just go buy an extension for my wrench?
Hope I don't drop the torx screws further down in the engine compartment than they already are...

I replaced my battery last fall and found that the bottom mount was made for a European battery with a notch cutout in the middle of the battery. Standard USA replacements would not fit. I pulled out the battery box and removed the square of plastic on the hold down mount. Yeah, in the process I dropped 2 torx screws and had to remove several body underpanels to get the screws back. It was a lot of work, but who could tell what kind of a job one of the local shops would have done. The labor involved was certainly more than any quote I had for replacing the Battery. If I hadn't done it myself, the car would most likely been hacked up.
