HID Ballast Problem
I have confirmed my problem with my HID is my ballast, and its cheaper to upgrade to aftermarket 55W hids, which would be much brighter, does anyone know which two wires on the headlights are the positive and negative for the actual HID, and if ill get a bulb out warning?
I have a spare Ballast that I got but was for a different model headlight.
I believe it was from an 2002, it's the type that sits on the side of the headlight.
If you want to take it off of my hands I'll sell it dirt cheap.
Just shoot me a PM.

Here is my current thoughts, completely remove headlights and remove old ballast and ignitor to make more room, and then going into the Ballast there is a yellow and a brown, and a green black and red going out, and the yellow and brown should be our + and -. Im just going to remove that harness and splice into the yellow and brown. That will give me my power source, and then mount the ballast in oem location with double sided tape, and since the ballast is built in ignitor, just run the d2s connector to the bulb. And seal up any holes so moisture doesn't get in.
less than 100 bucks, and that includes new bulbs and upgraded brighter 55w ballast. Im pretty excited. After i get it working flawless ill post the diy and where i ordered mine. I have 8k bulbs already and i am getting 6k with the kit. Ill have to confirm my 8k are rated for 55w before i use them.
Sweet!
Can you post up a link with the parts you used?
I'm telling you, this thread came just in time, my light doesn't work anymore now.
So you replaced pretty much everything concerning the HID's right? (ballast/igniter/bulb)

yes, everything was replaced, since if one ballast goes out now, the other is bound to go out soon, and i can do the whole thing for less then one ballast cost used for new stuff. I got the 50w/55w kit from xhidoutlet on ebay. Link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ht_7691wt_1030
