So what makes you think changing gears has something to do with the high rpms?
If it's only reverse and 1st you're having a problem with.

I'm pretty sure that either your tach is messed up, or you're just retarded. Not trying to be mean here, but unless your description is lacking some important details, there is no other explanation (Aside from a smaller wheel/tire height).

If it were your clutch, it would be a spike (probably when you hit boost), not a steady (for example)500rpm increase.Which would shoot up until you let off the gas. (not what you are describing)

The only possible explanation, other than you smoking way too much weedis that someone replaced your 5 speed with a 6 speed while you weren't looking. If that's the case, try shifting into 6th.
