Default hood seal

Thanks LowAmgC for the source picture. I need a new seal (black rubber strip circled in green) and the dealer wants $78! I can not find one anywhere else - even junk yards. I'm about to piece one together out of.... something, I don't quite know what yet.
Anybody have any other ideas?
Thanks!

You could always go with the "Low Profile Trim" from Modshack. It's the same trim that is used to seal the ends of the TTDA and VTDA. Added benefit is that it allows more airflow through the engine compartment and cooler temps. Steve sells the piece for $10, plus shipping.

I second that! Steve seems like a great guy with awesome products. Can't wait to do business with him!

Thanks for the info! My main concern is the increased engine noise - didn't realize how much that was muted. With the K&N filter it is quite loud. I like the idea of betterair flow and cooler temps, however. Hmmm.. what to do....

You think the panel filter is loud?

You should hear an open element and turbo inlet.

Mine's open. Lots of swooshing and wooshing. I like it, but I prefer the quieter option when I have a passenger. When I'm alone, it's wide open!
