They both use 1.8T engines right?

 

the easiest way, two tailpipes=225hp, 1 tailpipe=180

 

The intake manafold faces to the drivers side if 225, passenger side if 180. - b/c of intercoolers

 

huh? If you're talking about which side the throttle body sits on, my 180 is drivers side.

The exhaust thing is a good giveaway, 2 pipes is 225.

Also, theres a crossover pipe under the hood to connect the 2 intercoolers on the 225, its a big L shaped pipe that wraps around the left side of the engine (looking at the car) up by the firewall.

 

225 = two muffler tips
225 = 6 speed

180 = single exhaust tip
180 = 5 speed

 

Mines the 180 and has 6 speed and duel tip

 

My car has been in my family since new, it's the 180 but has the duel exhaust and the 6 speed box. I know its not been modified as its always been in the family and I have every receipt of it. My brother has just got the 225 and is the same as mine, only difference is the TT logo on the back bumper, mines silver with red background and his is just red
