that small tube is no biggie... you can get a small filter over itand zip tie it away from moving parts

because i bought those $30 cone filter at autozone...and i didnt get the smaller filter...guess i need to get that tomorrow....so do i take the whole intake box out and just replace the whole box with the cone and smaller filter....and also how do i sercure the filter and the MAF ?

its not a good idea to just leave the second hose open... so yea id get a filter over it

I drove mine for a month like that because I forgot about it after I put my filter on.
You might not have a problem... Then again all it takes is a rock or something to get in the tube, and that can happen 5 seconds after you start the car.

I havent met a 225 I havent spanked. I like the 180 because there is far less to worry about. I mean, ok, how much does a downpipe cost for you quattro owners? Eh? How hard is it to install? How much do you have to service your Haldex unit? When is the last time you did a burn out?

There are many plus', and some negatives.. i mean i cant really go into mud or anything, and I can launch the car like a AWD could.. but like I said before, i havent run across a 225 I havent spanked.
