Default I have a question for those with APR chipped 1.8T TT's

I'm thinking of chipping my 180hp 1.8T TT with an APR stage one chip and wanted some input from anyone who's already done it. just curious what kind of gains you got from it and if you found out that you needed other types of upgrades along with it to keep your car running as it should.

I didnt get the APR chip but I have had my car chipped for quite some time. It made a huge difference, sort of like someone kicking you in an office chair, verses you pushing yourself around, weird comparison i guess but its about the only way to really explain it without driving one with/without being chipped. I also got the drop in K&N airfilter and an Forge007 Diverter valve. All in all it was worth the money, and I would definately do it all over again.

its very nice....i chose them because they dont use a crazy amount of boost to acheive good power...also the powerband is very nice....sure u can get more power with say unitune(unitronics) but i dont like how much boost they use to get that hp....also a good DV and all silicone hoses will make a huge difference...a DV relocation kit (now built into the TB hose) is a great upgrade as well....get some watermeth(BTW i need to post my pics already) and u will love it....

I've had my 180 chipped for over 4 years without ever an issue. I run the 91 and 100 octane programs. I really like having the 4 program chip installed. I can change programs by tapping my lock code into the cruise control button, hold down the set button and switch between Stock/91/100 in seconds. No need to have a separate box to plug into the OBD2 plug.

APR with a soldered in chip, not an ECU flash.

The early 180HP don't have enough memory in the Stock ECU chip that allows you to flash in a program. You pull the ECU out and either send it to APR or one of their dealers and they will remove the stock chip and solder in a new APR 4-program chip. You can order them with 1/2/3/4 programs on them, or you can get just the one for your local premium fuel and add one later if you want. I opted for stock/91 when I first put mine in. Later when I started tracking the car, I wanted to get the extra HP from running 100, so I took it back to my local APR dealer and they flashed in the third program.
