So I have a 2000 Audi TT 180FWD. I hopped in my car last night and when I turned the key to start it....Click...something broke in the ignition switch or tumbler (i know nothing about ignitions) all i know is it does not catch, it does not start, the key spins 360 degrees and I cant get the key out of the friggin car. Anyone else have this issue before?? Is their a simple DIY for this or should I have it towed to a dealer (i don't want to do that) I've seen DIY ignition switch and something about ignition tumbler but Im not sure if thats what I need....And I don't understand how i could just swap that out since I would think each switch is specific to the key.... Thanks for any help anyone can give!!

 

I am locksmith a customer of mine has a 2001 Audi that key just spins in ignition. Any suggestion of website that has info to replace ignition of if problem is in housing. Thanks, Quinton
