Default Instrument Cluster/Dash Clock Failure???

Hi all, just lookin for advise about my 180bhp TT 2001 Quattro. Last week the battery was dead and I jump started it with jump leads. The car started and drove perfect but warning lams etc. were on. The Speedo, Rev, Petrol and temp guage didnt move at all. I have since replaced the battery and still the clocks are not working. When I unlock the car the milage shows up as normal but when the ignition is switched on this disappears. This happened along time ago when the battery was dead but after a few restarts it was perfect and has been since. What could be wrong? Any advise would be great, Thanks.
