My TT will lock without warning. So I always have my keys with. The feature that opens the windows from the outside with the turn of a key doesn't work. The chimes for key in ignition and lights on also doesn't work. Diagnosis says left side door latch. Hopefully warrenty will cover, if not it is about a $350 item including diagnosis!

take the left door card off (get a Bentley manual or some pix on the net) careful when removing the button on the door handle (inside). There is a small switch at the door latch which is acessable when removing the latch. Plastic switch usually brakes. Fix with a leaf style microswitch $4 at the electronics supply, and drill new holes for mounting.

While U have it open, remove the windo motor and lube the plastic m. and f.m. gears (motor and gearbox ) as well as cables with white grease.
